Open age Sunday League football in Leicestershire and Rutland is governed by the Leicestershire & Rutland FA who are based at Holmes Park in Whetstone, and they run five knockout cup competitions for the teams. They are in order of status: Premier Cup, Intermediate Cup, Shield, Trophy and Vase.
In terms of leagues and teams there are five leagues in which their members are solely based in Leicestershire plus three other leagues in which teams from Leicestershire compete. The largest of which is the Alliance Football League who have 81 teams spread across eight divisions. A full breakdown can be viewed in the table below:
